Alex’s Bistro

Why is it that when you want to make something sound all haughty, you automatically slip into a phony French accent? We know you do, and we’ve figured out why… “Haughty” comes from “haut”. That’s a French word, so somehow everything highbrow is always already automatically a little bit French. Alex’s is a lot bit French. They have crepes and Croque Monsieur ($9), for the love of whichever deity you feel comfortable loving, and at least one thing in each of the mother sauces. It is buttercream-baconlishious, just like it was when the French invented food – 5,000 years ago. If you’re still mad at the French, get something American, like the Cobb Salad. It’s delicious and has a lot less butter in it.
