Chris Jones - Dark Horse

Choose a bike to ride for life. I actually enjoy off-road most. A Yamaha Rhino. It is a side-by-side, and it’s tons of fun.
What inspires you? Businesses that have grown faster than mine. I love to read about business dreamers.

What is your gambling game of choice? Slots.

What is your next big move? Probably another Iron Pony in Cincinnati.

What are you a sucker for? My wife. That’s the only and best answer (laughing).

What was your wedding song? We got married at our house, so it wasn’t so standard. We really didn’t have one. I guess we’ve done it our way all along.

What is your death row dinner? A Morton’s filet with a good cabernet to wash it down.

You can have a drink with anyone in history. Name the person, drink and place. Starbucks CEO Howard Schultz, at Starbucks, and we’d have a cup of coffee discussing his growth.

You were recently named the 2011 Powersports Dealer of the Year. What does that mean to you? To me, it’s like winning the Super Bowl, especially when you consider that Ohio has 9 of the top 100 dealers in the country. To win in that company is huge. I haven’t been that excited since my kids were born.
What really pisses you off? Government stupidity.

What is one thing few people know about you? I like to run half marathons. Looking at me, that wouldn’t likely be a first pick.

Best bike ever made? Yamaha XS 1100. It was the bike I never really had enough money to own while growing up. Needless to say, I’m always on the lookout for a mint Midnight Special.
What is something you always find yourself saying? Sell tough. My employees sometimes tell me that I don’t look or act like a salesman, and I tell them the same thing each time: “Have you seen my wife?!”

Do you cut your own grass? No, not anymore. I enjoy doing it, but I can’t give up an entire day to do it. I pay someone to cross-hatch our 5 acres for the cost of gas when I do it. Time is money. I’d rather spend it on my family.
